South Asia Think Tanks

South Asia is home to a large number of policy institutions popularly called ‘think tanks’ focussing on various facets of regional cooperation. In this page you will find a list of key institutions working on the issues of trade, investment flows, environment, defence, foreign affairs, among others. Given our interest in understanding regional cooperation, especially trade issues among border states and provinces, we present here a mapping of institutions of each SAARC country along with think tanks in the Indian states that border these countries. You will also find information on global institutions, outside South Asia but working on the region.

We will update this list from time to time. Please feel free to leave your suggestions in the Feedback Form in the Contact section. If you are interested in listing your institution, please use the Feedback Form as well to provide details of your institution along with a link to your website.

Each fortnight we Feature an expert on South Asia Regional Cooperation. So watch this space for new features! This issue features Dr Rajiv Kumar, Senior Fellow, Centre for Policy Research, New Delhi, India.
